There are a few reasons for this. As with Sir Edric's Temple, I think editing for the comedy will be minimal. In addition, it'll be probably half or less the size of Kingdom Asunder, so even though I'm a fair way into the first draft of Kingdom Asunder the comedy's first draft is likely to be done first. Last but not least, whilst Sir Edric's Adventures are a series, they're a loose series of self-contained tales. Kingdom Asunder, by contrast, is the first part of a trilogy, and as well as trying to make it work in itself I need to try and ensure it sets up the second and third instalments.
There's also the possibility that Sir Edric's Treasure will be bundled together with Sir Edric's Temple into a single volume.
At the moment I think Treasure might be out this year, Kingdom Asunder is unlikely to be.
I've got another short story to work on (a real change of pace, with an altogether more paranormal sort of approach), and when that's done (assuming I don't end up accidentally writing another one...) it'll just be Sir Edric's Treasure and Kingdom Asunder I've got to do. The steampunk I referred to in my last entry has been completed and submitted, but I'm not expecting an aye or nay for months.
Malevolence: Tales From Beyond the Veil should be out later this year, and will contain Saxon & Khan, a short story written by me.
