I've been working on a serial, largely inspired by Outlaws of the Marsh, and Robin Hood. At the current rate of progress, it may be released around April-May (does depend if other short story opportunities arise in the meantime). At the moment, I'm planning on writing about nine chapters, which may well be released in just three or four parts to prevent the instalments being ridiculously small.
Serials are notorious for not working that well, but I'm finding this hugely enjoyable and the total time spent isn't that large. If the short narrative works well enough, I can continue (the 'ending' is open) with the serial approach. If not, the option is there to continue the story with a novel, or novella.
Traitor's Prize, the sequel to Kingdom Asunder, is being redrafted, but the core of the story is sound so nothing dramatic should happen. Giving a date is not possible because I still need some other things to happen before it's viable. I am, however, hoping to bring it forward substantially from the planned December, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
The trilogy's third and final part is undergoing a major redraft. Most of that is adding new parts for continuity/story-balance but I am changing bits and pieces too. A problem with deliberately writing a story with many viable endings is that it can be tricky to decide which one is best. On the plus side, I'm very happy with a late plot twist.
I've not worked much on Sir Edric's shenanigans lately. A finished novel, Sir Edric's Kingdom, is on the shelf for now, but I will update when a release date is in mind. Sir Edric and the Plague is another novel, in need of minor redrafting (but with the trilogy and serial I haven't had the time).
As well as these projects, I'm also keeping an eye out for short story submission windows for anthologies, so hopefully there'll be a few more of those to come too.
