I've made a little more progress on Traitor's Prize, the sequel to Kingdom Asunder. It's not my prime focus, yet, because I've got a couple of short stories to try and nail down as well as wanting to finish off Sir Edric's Kingdom.
Speaking of which, Sir Edric's Kingdom is quite close to completion. And it's bigger than Temple and Treasure combined. Which is nice.
Occasionally I muse about a comedy compendium [prefer that to 'anthology' for the alliteration]. Although they need some demanglification, I've written two short Sir Edric tales for that (unsure if I'll release one or both as Free Stories beforehand. I want at least half and preferably more of short stories included to be unseen upon the compendium's release, which is the fuzziest and vaguest of things I have pencilled in).
Writing a horror short for a new anthology. It's entirely unrelated to the well-received Project Phoenix, the anthology to which is belongs can be bought here.
In the short term, my plan is thus:
Finish off the short story.
Finish off Sir Edric's Kingdom.
Focus on Traitor's Prize over the next year or so.
When that's on the backburner (during brief breaks and when awaiting beta reader feedback) work on short stories and perhaps make a start on the fourth Sir Edric story [working title is Sir Edric and the Plague].
Anyway, as I wrote previously, it's a bit disappointing that of 3 books I was hoping to have out this year, the actual number will be, er 0. On the other hand, the books have not fallen into the sea and I'm not dead. They will be released, just next year. And I haven't been sat twiddling my thumbs so, although the delay from my last book to the next is a bit hefty, the delay from the next book to the one after that should be measured in months, and I'll have finished work lined up after that.
